The Codest believes in four crucial values that are the core of all actions taken by The Codest teams. In this article, our CEO and co-founder, Greg Polec, explains what acting fast and focusing on the bigger picture means to us.
Along with The Codest’s growth, we started to notice values that drive our teams’ potential. Golden core values of The Codest guide us through many different challenges and allow us to keep our eye on the finish line.
There are four values that our teams swear by:
All of us implement those values, regardless of our position in the company, and tailor them based on their competencies and decision-making statuses. Our core values are not imposed from above as we follow them on every level of the organization.
In the following series of articles, we will share our view on each value. This time let’s dive into the first value of The Codest – act fast and focus on the bigger picture.
This value relates to the development of the people – thus translating in the long term into the development of the company. Our approach is to plan responsibly, and we do it once a year, once a quarter, and make it realistic every month. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with ad-hoc activities because they keep up the dynamics, but we rely on well thought-out actions to test what is working and what is not.
We want our teams to focus on what really allows us to progress. That is why emphasize setting the big priorities and creating well thought-out plans to deliver the right results. If something is simply not working, we look for alternatives.
If we see that a service in our portfolio is simply not doing well, we don’t want to keep it for another year. We have to make a decision and then gather conclusions as to why something didn’t work. This way we can focus on another service that will achieve a faster growth rate. Yes, we focus on services and activities that have a quick impact on the result – so the teams can test different solutions and react dynamically if something does not work.
It allows us to change our mindset. We see the priority, the end goal and work towards those. It allows us to focus on actions that are crucial to progress according to our plan. We also aim at leaving out solutions that don’t bring any positive outcomes and move into new ones in order to save up time and develop faster.
The Codest values have been created based on the company’s DNA. Act fast and focus on the bigger picture is a rule we follow to achieve our goals and improve ourselves to fulfill the big plan.
We strongly believe that our four core values create the right mindset of our teams. As a result, they can focus on the end line and don’t get discouraged by small obstacles along the way.
