I \u00e5renes l\u00f8p har mange spurt meg hvorfor jeg gidder \u00e5 programmering i PHP<\/a><\/strong>, og i mange \u00e5r har jeg som et mantra h\u00f8rt to tilbakevendende argumenter for hvorfor jeg burde slutte og begynne \u00e5 skrive kommersiell programvare i spr\u00e5k som Java<\/a> eller C#.

Den f\u00f8rste omtalen som PHP<\/strong> er d\u00f8ende har v\u00e6rt \u00e5 finne p\u00e5 nettet siden 2013. Den gang Software Gunslinger publiserte en artikkel<\/a> (som jeg forresten anbefaler p\u00e5 det varmeste!) som sier at PHP vil d\u00f8 fordi den ikke st\u00f8tter langlivede prosesser og fordi den mangler asynkronitet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Og det er et faktum, PHP<\/strong> var ikke skapt for det!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Og apropos penger... visste du at PHP<\/strong> og dens kilde kode<\/a> har blitt vedlikeholdt siden november 2021 av uavhengig \u00e5pen kildekode<\/em> samfunnetPHP-stiftelsen<\/a> som betaler mye penger<\/strong> til OpenSource-utviklere for bidrag til php-src<\/code>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For de uinnvidde - ja, koden ovenfor for\u00e5rsaker en minnefeil. Og det er mer. Fra den idiotiske navngivningen av metoder og den totale mangelen p\u00e5 logikk i rekkef\u00f8lgen av parametrene (ja, vi elsker alle str_<\/code> og array_<\/code>) til PHPs mest ber\u00f8mte feil T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM<\/code> - PHP er full av s\u00e6regenheter og laster fra gamle versjoner. Dette betyr ikke at det vi h\u00f8rte om PHP<\/strong> for noen \u00e5r siden, gjelder fortsatt. Spr\u00e5ket har gjennomg\u00e5tt en enorm metamorfose, og i dag er jeg glad for \u00e5 kunne se p\u00e5 objektdefinisjonene mine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vi kan bruke Symfony<\/strong> \u200bfor \u00e5 utvikle DDD-applikasjoner<\/a> uten store problemer, og vi kan omg\u00e5 problemet med PHPs synkronisering ved \u00e5 bruke Message Bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Og selv om jeg selv ikke tror PHP<\/strong> er egnet for \u00e5 lage langlivede backend-prosesser og har store ytelsesproblemer n\u00e5r det gjelder tilstandssynkronisering, men jeg har ogs\u00e5opprettet en PHP konsollspill<\/a> ved hjelp av Symfony + Docker<\/a> med mine egne hender som et eksempel p\u00e5 at PHP fortsatt kan ha utradisjonelle bruksomr\u00e5der.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En annen fordelen med PHP<\/strong> er den lave inngangsbarrieren for nye utviklere. Dokumentasjon av to popul\u00e6re rammeverk, Symfony ogLaravel<\/a> og PHP<\/strong> dokumentasjon i seg selv er nok til \u00e5 komme inn i backend-verdenen med deres hjelp. En verden som ikke er perfekt i PHP, men som gir mulighet for mye. Ved \u00e5 bruke tilleggsbiblioteker som Laravel<\/a> Nova kan vi opprette nesten alle komponenter i systemet v\u00e5rt med bare to kommandoer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nei, men det har et imageproblem og trenger mye arbeid for \u00e5 forbedre det. Vi programmerere m\u00e5 gj\u00f8re dette arbeidet ved \u00e5 l\u00e6re opp den nye generasjonen og videreformidle beste praksis i form av artikler, biblioteker og tips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Som et spr\u00e5k som har v\u00e6rt p\u00e5 marked<\/a> i tjue \u00e5r, og som allerede har overlevd mer enn \u00e9n hype<\/code> (husker du Objective-C?) Jeg tror det vil klare seg og finne sin nisje.
